MESA GRILL (Owned by Ms. Sharon Cuneta)
When I celebrated my Birthday at MESA in GB4, owned by KC last December 2011. I said to myself, whats the difference kaya with MESA GRILL in Tomas Morato. So off we went with my team pcmc escapees during lunch time. Of course we never failed to order the Tinapa Roll, which is very popular, no difference, it taste the same- MASARAP!, We also got the Baby Squid in Olive Oil and Garlic, that when eaten with rice SOLVE ka na. BAKED TAHONG for appetizer, which can also be a main course, smothered with more cheese and garlic. I ordered Fried Cirspy Hito, But I think the waitress was too deaf to hear it right and instead she brought us HITO FLAKES, which I think is better as pulutan. But nevertheless, we got the same service, same amount of food in every serving, But the rice is somewhat cooked with less water turning it aldente. but all in all, it was a great pleasure eating here at MESA.

Definitely, will give it 5 stars for Food, Ambiance and Facilities, and 4 for crew. They need to be trained further like proper way of serving the dish and some manners in dealing with their customers. Will come back, but of course with a new set of people na lang. hehehe

PHO HOA

One of the best Vietnamese cuisine that we can find here in metro manila is Pho Hoa. it is practically everywhere. I always order their hot noodle soup, which when served, you have to put in some lemon, bean sprout and mint leaves plus spices that will make your soup more exciting. I think this is their best seller aside from the fresh vegie spring roll, with their delectable peanut sauce. love how they wrap and slice these spring rolls, all vegies are always fresh and crunchy especially the wrapper that they use, it is very unique that can only be found in Pho Hoa

FRESH VEGETABLE SPRING ROLL

Try not to order the fried version of this because we want to avoid too much oil in your dish when eating Vietnamese dishes.

When I was travelling north, I decided not to pass SLEX because the toll fee is very expensive, plus the price of gas is high. so i veered my way in Bulacan and stumbled upon this Highway restaurant. I forgot the name becuase I was not paying much attention, I was hungry and Im focused on filling my stomach and continue with my travel. I ordered Fried hito, I asked the waiter where are you going to get the hito? because I wanted it alive before it is fried - He said " Dyan po sa ilalim ng table nyo sir" and to my surpirse, there was a fish pond below my table with Live Hito and Tilapia, swimming on it and waiting to be eaten. Finally, when my order came, I was excited and the Hito apparently was the smallest catch, but I think it is big enough for at least 3 persons. and it is so cheap at 120 Pesos a piece.... O not bad ha, I will definitely come back to that place because I can only remember the place and how it looked like.

I also ordered Fired Duck and it only cost 60 Pesos, Crunchy talaga and tender, not the chewy kind of duck that you may find in some filthy restaurant on the highway. But of course, It is not recommended for those watching their cholesterol level... Danger... sabi nga nila, hehe. I paired it with pinakbet which is very aunthenticate and a litro of Coke, 4 cups of rice! Yes 4 CUPS of rice! Demon talaga, all cost me 560 Pesos, not bad ha.
